Hurricane Wilma Hits - Agency Stays in Business

Our agency is located in Western Fort Lauderdale, Florida and took a direct hit by Category 3 Hurricane Wilma with winds in excess of 125mph back on October 24th of this year. Power & phones were knocked out in a 150-200 mile radius of our agency. The roof of our agency was torn open in multiple places and we suffered water damage to the interior of the office.

You were able to accommodate us on short notice and get a shell CAROL site up and running and set us up with the Call Center. The last thing we did at the office before going home to ride out the storm was transferring all of our 8 incoming phone lines to the Call Center. They took claim information from our policyholders directly into the CAROL system along with miscellaneous messages, service requests, quote requests, etc. Though the power & phones came back on at our office approximately 5 days after the storm, we stayed on the call center answering service for another full week to allow our staff time to call back clients as necessary & submit loss notices to the insurance carriers.

Through CAROL, we were able to analyze the call volume and found that we had taken in excess of 800 claims. Our recovery was much shorter and less stressful than it would have been without the Call Center. The operators were very professional and helpful, which meant a lot to everyone considering the adverse conditions we were all in.

We are now back to normal and use the call center during the hours our office is closed. We have over 3000 minutes of call center usage in 2 short months and can easily see that we would not want operate without it.

Thank you and all of your staff at Advanced Automation for helping take the edge of the worst disaster our business has faced.
